The governor of the eastern state made this declaration on Saturday, January 7, stating that the roads have been penciled down in areas where there are possibilities of having agriculture, commerce and industrial prospects. According to vanguard, Governor Willie Obiano said that a minimum of 101 (one hundred and one) roads will be constructed in Anambra state in 90 days.
Obiano noted that the the roads would be constructed across the three major senatorial districts of the state, adding that "It would be done to standard due to the anticipated heavy duty trucks conveying products to and from the project sites.".

While describing 2016 as a year of breakthrough for Anambra state, he explained that he would intensify efforts to ensure that the people of the state do not suffer the harsh reality of the economic recession presently affecting the country. "I am committed to seeing through my social contract with the people."
However, many residents are wondering how Governor illie Obiano will be able to achieve this feat. Speaking to Ogbongenews, a political commentator in Anambra State, Chief Okafor Okwuchukwu wondered if Obiano intended to work outside the 2017 budget which he presented to the State House of Assembly. He reminded Anambrarians to shine their eyes as the government of Obiano was used to dishing out fairy tales in place of actual events, and urged people to ponder how a regime which could not complete any road left behind by the Peter Obi administration, commence any new one in two years with a budget of over 240 billion naira promise to build 101 roads within 90 days with a 2017 budget of 114 billion naira. Chief Okafor said that what the Obiano government intended to do was to start 101 roads that will never be completed just to win votes for his re-election bid.
